Lower Rio Grande Valley Region Cyber Disruption Consequence Management Workshop
On behalf of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council, their partners, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), you are invited to participate in the Lower Rio Grande Valley Region Cyber Disruption Consequence Management Workshop. The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 in the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council Main Campus, Building B, located at 301 W. Railroad Street, Weslaco, TX. Sign-in will open at 7:30 AM and the workshop will begin promptly at 8:00AM.
The interactive workshop is designed to help a jurisdiction identify resilient solutions for managing the consequences of a cyber disruption affecting critical systems and services. It seeks to:
- Identify interdependencies and gaps in decisions, actions, and resources needed to manage the consequences of a cyber disruption;
- Increase situational awareness and inform stakeholders of the challenges faced during a cyber disruption;
- Understand the key issues that should be addressed in a response plan for a cyber disruption; and
- Strengthen and exercise relationships with response partners and members of the whole community.
A majority of the day will be spent in facilitated peer groups and plenary discussions to identify pertinent issues surrounding response activities, define success, and brainstorm solutions to strengthen resiliency across the Lower Rio Grande Valley region. The workshop will also include briefings from subject matter experts on pertinent topics.
